Frequently Asked Questions

Which is better for ₹1 crore term Insurance, Bajaj Life or HDFC Life?

Both Bajaj Life and HDFC Life offer ₹1 crore term insurance coverage. The better option depends on your age, health, smoking status, premium, policy features, and claim service. Compare personalized quotes and policy exclusions before deciding. For a 25-year-old male seeking ₹1 crore term insurance coverage until age 65, the annual premium is ₹9,294 for HDFC Life Click 2 Protect Supreme Plus and ₹9,750 for Bajaj Life eTouch II.

Is Bajaj Life Insurance the same company as Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance?

Yes. Bajaj Life Insurance is the new name of Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance following Allianz SE’s exit in March 2026. The ownership structure changed after the exit, with Bajaj promoter-group entities collectively holding the insurer. When reviewing older policy documents or articles, you may still see the former name, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance.

Does Bajaj Life’s Higher solvency ratio mean claims are safer than with HDFC Life?

Bajaj Life’s higher solvency ratio indicates a larger capital buffer relative to its regulatory requirements. However, it doesn't guarantee safer claims or that every claim will be approved. Claim decisions depend on policy terms, disclosures, exclusions, and supporting documents. Compare solvency alongside claim settlement data, complaints, and the insurer’s claims process.

Can I port a Bajaj Life term plan to HDFC Life?

No. Life insurance policies in India cannot be ported directly from one insurer to another in the way health insurance policies can. You may apply for a new HDFC Life term plan, but approval depends on underwriting. Before replacing your existing policy, confirm that the new cover is issued and active. Do not cancel your current plan prematurely.

Can I buy a Bajaj Life or HDFC Life term plan if I have a pre-existing medical condition?

Yes. You can apply for a Bajaj Life or HDFC Life term plan even with a pre-existing medical condition, but approval is not guaranteed. The insurer will assess your diagnosis, treatment history, age, current health, and other risk factors. Based on its underwriting assessment, it may approve the policy at standard rates, charge a higher premium, postpone the application, or decline coverage. Disclose all medical details accurately to avoid complications during claim settlement.

How easy is it to get a term insurance policy issued by Bajaj Life compared with HDFC Life?

Neither insurer guarantees easier policy issuance. Both assess applications based on age, health, occupation, income, medical tests, and the requested cover amount. Straightforward applications may receive approval quickly, while complex medical or financial cases can take longer. Submit accurate documents and disclosures, and compare the underwriting requirements for your chosen plans.

Does claim settlement ratio make HDFC Life more reliable than Bajaj Life?

HDFC Life’s higher claim settlement ratio may indicate that it settled a larger share of claims during the reported period. However, this metric alone cannot establish that one insurer is more reliable. Compare ratios calculated on the same basis and period, along with claim amounts, complaints, solvency, policy terms, and claim service. No ratio guarantees approval of an individual claim.

What does the Bajaj Care Plus rider offer?

The Bajaj Care Plus Rider combines health, fitness, and wellness benefits. It includes unlimited teleconsultations, pharmacy discounts, gym sessions, nutrition and psychologist consultations, and preventive health checkups. It also provides a lump sum payout and waiver of future rider premiums in case of Accidental Total Permanent Disability (ATPD). The payout is 10 times the annualized rider premium for regular and limited pay, or 1.25 times for single pay. It is available only to Indian residents. OPD benefits have a 30-day waiting period at inception.

What do the HDFC Life Click 2 Protect Supreme Plus LiveWell and Cancer Cover riders offer?

The LiveWell Rider offers accidental death and personal accident cover, with optional benefits such as Return of Premium and Double Benefit. The Cancer Cover Rider provides additional coverage of up to ₹50 lakh for major and minor cancer for five years. It has a 180-day waiting period and a seven-day survival period. After a valid minor cancer claim, the rider waives future premiums for three years, after which payments resume, subject to policy terms.
