Quick Overview
Think about the last time you visited a hospital. You probably spent more time waiting than actually seeing a doctor. The consultation lasted five minutes. And somewhere in the back of your mind, you wondered if every test the doctor ordered was truly necessary.
This is where Superhealth comes in, a Bengaluru-based hospital startup that is trying to fix these issues with a transparent business model.
In this article, we'll cover what Superhealth is, the services it offers, how the VIP Pass works, its benefits and limitations, and how it compares to a regular OPD health insurance plan.
What Is Superhealth?
Superhealth is a healthcare startup founded in 2024 in Bengaluru. It describes itself as India's first zero-wait, zero-commission hospital network. By removing the financial incentives that drive unnecessary procedures and by designing hospitals for efficiency, they claim to provide patients with better care at a lower cost.
The hospital operates out of Salarpuria Tower 1 in Koramangala, Bengaluru (currently the only Superhealth hospital). But they plan to partner with 10 hospitals in Bengaluru and, eventually, build a 100-hospital network across India by 2030.
Who Is Behind Superhealth?
Services Offered by Superhealth
Superhealth currently offers multiple OPD and Inpatient Department (IPD) services, including:
- Multi-specialty OPD consultations (Cardiology, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Pulmonology, ENT, Urology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Paediatrics, General Medicine, and more)
- Diagnostics like blood tests, X-rays, ECG, and imaging, such as MRI and CT scans
- 24x7 emergency care
- Inpatient admissions (50-bed hospital with private rooms only)
- Supersurgery, which is a fixed-price surgical care program (general surgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology, ENT, urology, ophthalmology, neurology, spine surgery, paediatric surgery)
- Superbirth is a structured pregnancy and maternity care programme
- Honest second opinion is a free service for anyone (VIP Pass member or not) who has been advised of a surgery and wants an independent second review
Superhealth also markets its technology-led operations as a key reason for faster hospital workflows. It has an in-house AI operating system that handles appointment scheduling, prescription drafting (in 15 Indian languages), billing, and discharge documentation.
Superhealth VIP Pass: Features and Benefits
To understand what makes the VIP Pass a good deal, let’s consider the math.
A single MRI in Bengaluru typically costs ₹4,000–₹10,000. A specialist consultation is anywhere from ₹700 to ₹3,000.
For people who expect multiple specialist visits or prescribed tests at this one hospital, the pass can quickly become cost-effective.
Drawbacks of the Superhealth VIP Pass
1) Single Hospital
Right now, Superhealth operates as a single hospital in Koramangala, Bengaluru. If you don't live or work near Koramangala, visiting for every consultation or test is impractical. There's no pan-India network, either.
2) Limited Health Insurance Integration
Superhealth is empaneled with select insurers, so cashless claims are not available for all its partners. For most policies, you need to pay out of pocket and claim reimbursement. That said, Superhealth does try to facilitate cashless claims wherever possible through the cashless everywhere initiative, so it's worth checking with them directly for your specific insurer.
3) VIP Pass is OPD-Only
The VIP Pass covers consultations and diagnostics. It does not cover the cost of surgeries, hospital stays, or emergency care. You need to pay the Supersurgery fixed price separately for additional requirements. So, if a family member needs surgery, the VIP Pass alone won't cover it.
4) It's a New Startup
Superhealth launched its first hospital in December 2025. It has ambitious plans and is backed by notable investors. But it is still in its early stages. As with any new venture, time will tell how it scales and whether the quality of care remains consistent as it expands.
5) Price Has Gone Up Over Time
The cost of the VIP Pass has increased since its launch. It started at ₹999/year, was increased to ₹1,999/year, and is currently ₹3,999/year. This is not uncommon for startups, but it means the current pricing may not reflect what you might pay at renewal.
6) Getting an Appointment Can Take Time
Superhealth's zero-wait promise applies once you're inside the hospital. Getting an appointment is a different story. As the brand has grown in popularity, appointment slots for specialist consultations have become harder to secure quickly. If you need to see a doctor urgently, you may find the next available slot is a few days away.

Ditto's Take
Superhealth is building something genuinely interesting. The idea that a hospital can succeed without commission-driven incentives and offer unlimited OPD access is a bold experiment in Indian healthcare.
So, here's what we'd recommend: Buy a comprehensive health insurance plan first. Consider Superhealth VIP Pass only as an optional convenience layer if you live near Koramangala and expect to use OPD services frequently. Never do it the other way around.
