Overview
Most health plans step in only after you are admitted to a hospital. But women's health needs begin much earlier, with periods, hormones, pregnancy planning, and menopause. A regular plan rarely handles these well.
ICICI Lombard Elevate HER tries to close that gap. It reshapes your ICICI Lombard Elevate health insurance cover around your age and life stage.
This article explains the four variants, what each covers, the waiting periods, and the drawbacks.
What Is ICICI Lombard Elevate HER Add-On & Who Is It For?
Elevate HER is an add-on, not a standalone policy, launched in August 2026. You can attach it to an ICICI Lombard Elevate base policy for an additional premium.
You choose one variant for each woman on the policy. It renews only with the base policy and works on individual and family floater policies.
The base Elevate plan pays hospital bills, and Elevate HER adds preventive, life-stage care on top. Here are the key details:

What Does ICICI Lombard Elevate HER Cover?
Every plan shares these core benefits under the Elevate ICICI Lombard add-on:

Teleconsultations
This benefit offers unlimited teleconsultations with gynecologists (Elevate HER Gynae Care Plus), nutritionists (Elevate HER Nutri Care Plus), and mental health professionals (Elevate HER Mind Care Plus).
Outpatient Department (OPD) Consultations
This benefit is called Elevate HER GynaeCare Visit and pays for up to two in-person gynecologist visits every policy year. You get it on a cashless basis, but only at network clinics. The total payout is capped at ₹1,500 a year, so the visits share that limit. A 30-day initial waiting period applies to this benefit and to your diagnostic credits. It doesn't apply if you renew your policy without a break.
Wellness App
Tracking tools and health programs through ICICI Lombard's app. You can access app-based services (Elevate HER Wellness Hub) for menstrual health tracking, reproductive health, and contraception education. It also offers Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) / Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) support, irregular period support, mental wellbeing, bullying and peer pressure counseling, and peer group support.
Diagnostic Credits
Each policy year, you get a set number of credit points (2,000 to 4,500, depending on your plan) that act as a spending limit for tests. You can use them for a yearly bundled health check-up, which is cashless at partner labs and needs no doctor's prescription. Some plans also cover an ultrasound (only if a gynecologist advises it) and screenings like Pap smear, DEXA, mammography, and ECG, which unlock from the second policy year. Anything above your credit balance or outside your plan isn't paid.
Women's Cancer Cover (Plus Plans)
Plus plans add a fixed payout on first diagnosis of eight cancers. These are breast, cervical, ovarian, fallopian tube, vaginal, vulvar, uterine, and thyroid. The Sum Insured (SI) under this benefit is equal to the base policy, capped at ₹50 lakh per insured member. Any claim under this benefit will not reduce your SI. This benefit applies after a 90-day waiting period.

ICICI Lombard Elevate HER Add-On: Maternity & Fertility Benefits
Most maternity covers begin at pregnancy. Nurture plan also supports the stage before it. It is only for women aged 23 to 45 with a base sum insured of ₹7.5 lakh or more. Here are the key details.
Note: In the table above, IUI stands for intrauterine insemination, ICSI for intracytoplasmic sperm injection, ZIFT for zygote intrafallopian transfer and GIFT for gamete intrafallopian transfer.
The maternity and ART limit is one shared amount that depends on your base sum insured:
Not Covered: Tests and treatment for the male partner, elective ART, elective abortions, and cosmetic care.
Note: Start early, because IVF cover begins only after three years. If you increase your base sum insured later, the higher limit faces a fresh waiting period.
Newborn baby cover is a separate Elevate add-on that needs an approved maternity claim.

Life-Stage Benefits Offered by ICICI Lombard Elevate HER
A few rules to keep in mind:
- The diagnostic credits are a spending cap, not a list of free tests. Anything above the cap is not payable.
- Pap smear and Harmony's scans unlock only from the 2nd policy year.
- You can do scans at any center, but reimbursement requires reports and receipts.
- A 30-day waiting period applies to credits and clinic visits.
Premium Comparison
Note: A stands for adult and F stands for female. The premiums are calculated for healthy individuals residing in Delhi (pincode: 110010) for a ₹15 lakh sum insured. The values are indicative and vary based on age, location, sum insured, chosen add-ons, and medical underwriting.
Premium Analysis: For consultations, screening tests, and teleconsults, the add-on costs only about ₹2,000 to ₹2,600 a year, which is a decent starting point. Maternity is a different story, as the Nurture plan jumps to ₹65,933 for the same couple. That is why we at Ditto don't recommend maternity add-ons.
It is better to save or use your corporate policy. Since this is a new plan, future price changes are unclear, and premiums could rise. Elevate is already highly customizable, so adding HER can make it harder to choose the right cover.

Conclusion
ICICI Lombard Elevate HER is a thoughtful add-on, but its benefits remain untested. If you already have a health policy, it is better to skip it for now.
This holds especially true for the maternity and IVF benefit inside Nurture. It is useful, but it is not a complete safety net. It only offsets costs up to the limits in the table above, and this may not match what a private hospital charges.
Ditto's Take: We do not recommend buying a plan only for maternity cover. Use your employer's policy first if you have one. Otherwise, a dedicated savings fund often works out cheaper.
