Manipal Cigna Sarvah Plan Review: Core Benefits
1. High-Cover Hospitalization for Major Illnesses
The Manipal Cigna Sarvah plan provides very high hospitalization coverage, up to ₹3 Crores, for serious and life-altering medical conditions. This enhanced protection is primarily designed for Cancer, Heart Attack (specified severity), Stroke, and Major Organ or Bone Marrow Transplant.
For enhanced protection, the “Anant” benefit (available as an add-on in Uttam and Param) provides coverage without a predefined upper limit for these major illnesses and accidental hospitalizations. It is subject to policy terms and medical necessity (available only if your base sum insured is ₹10 lakh or more). Anant is available only in the first policy year and cannot be added at renewal, and once selected it must be continued in future renewals.
2. Comprehensive Hospitalization Expense Coverage (Uniform Across Variants)
Across Sarvah Pratham, Uttam, and Param, the following hospitalization-related benefits are standard and identical:
- Day care treatments (procedures not requiring 24-hour hospitalization)
- Domiciliary hospitalization
- Road ambulance expenses
- AYUSH treatments (In-patient & day care)
- Pre-hospitalization medical expenses up to 90 days
- Post-hospitalization medical expenses up to 180 days
All the above in-built features are covered up to the sum insured.
All Sarvah variants offer coverage for a Single Private A/C Room. As long as you stay within this room category (or lower), there are no proportionate deductions on medical bills. Choosing a higher category, such as a Suite, can lead to proportionate deductions. ICU expenses are covered up to the sum insured, subject to policy terms and medical necessity.
3. Guaranteed Growth & Claim Support Mechanisms
Manipal Cigna Sarvah is structured to ensure that coverage does not get exhausted easily, especially during multiple or high-cost hospitalizations:
- Gullak Benefit: It offers a guaranteed cumulative bonus that increases your base sum insured every year, irrespective of claims, up to a defined maximum (up to 1500%), as per the chosen variant and policy terms.
- Unlimited Restoration: refills the sum insured multiple times in a policy year. The applicability of restoration for related or unrelated illnesses varies by variant and rider.
- Surplus Benefit: Provides an extra 100% of the base sum insured for the first claim of each policy year, subject to policy terms.
(Availability of these benefits varies by variant and is detailed in the Riders section.)
4. Organ Donor Coverage
All Manipal Cigna Sarvah variants cover donor expenses up to the sum insured.
This benefit includes:
- Pre- and post-hospitalization expenses of the organ donor, covered for up to 30 days.
- Expenses for donor screening, covered once per policy year for a successful transplant.
- Complications arising during hospitalization or within 30 days from discharge, covered up to 25% of the base sum insured, subject to a maximum of ₹2 lakh, over and above the base sum insured.
5. Accident Protection & Nationwide Access
- Personal Accident Cover (optional): Lump-sum payout of up to ₹3 Crores for Accidental Death or Permanent Total Disablement.
- No Zonal Co-payment: Treatment can be taken anywhere in India, without cost-sharing based on city classification (an advantage over many competing plans).
6. Savings, Rewards & Renewal Benefits
Sarvah plans may offer premium-saving features such as early renewal discounts and wellness-linked rewards through the Manipal Cigna app. Depending on the variant, these benefits can translate into renewal discounts or other incentives (subject to policy terms and insurer guidelines).

Note: Premiums are indicative base rates for Delhi, calculated at a ₹15 lakh sum insured with no pre-existing conditions.
Insight: Manipal Cigna Sarvah Param, the top variant in the Sarvah range, is competitively priced for younger individuals and families, especially when you consider its Day-1 coverage and premium features. Manipal Cigna Sarvah Plan Review: Ditto’s Take
The Manipal Cigna Sarvah is a feature-rich health insurance plan. It is well-suited for first-time buyers and budget-conscious individuals, large and non-traditional families, people with pre-existing diseases, and those seeking high-limit, flexible coverage. It stands out for covering live-in partners and extended family and for its Param variant that allows Day 1 coverage for pre-existing conditions (built-in). When it comes to the operational metrics, the insurer does fairly well.
However, if you prioritize an insurer with the largest possible network and the most seamless, automated claim experience, you might still want to weigh this against HDFC ERGO Optima Secure or Care Supreme. Just make sure your preferred local hospitals are on their network list before buying.
