Vibe. Aura Points. Green flags. Red flags.

Sounds like we’re talking about a Gen Z Instagram page, right? Not quite. This is actually a health insurance plan from ICICI Lombard called Vibe, launched in September 2026.

It is clearly built for a younger audience. And instead of only showing up when someone gets hospitalized, the plan tries to stay relevant to everyday life too.

Staying claim-free earns you Aura Points every month. You can redeem them across activities like badminton, football, and pickleball.

That said, the Gen Z-friendly packaging should not distract from the insurance basics. In this guide, we will discuss how room eligibility, waiting periods, add-ons, and how a claim affects future Aura Point earnings still matter before deciding whether the plan is worth buying.

What Is the ICICI Lombard Vibe Health Insurance Plan?

ICICI Lombard Vibe is a new health insurance plan designed for younger individuals and families. You can buy an individual policy for ages 18 to 35, while children aged 91 days to 5 years can only be covered under a family floater. Under a floater policy, dependent children can be covered up to age 18.

Vibe combines hospitalization coverage with benefits such as gym and fitness access, psychological counseling, teleconsultations, and wellness-linked Aura Points.

Pros and Cons of the ICICI Lombard Vibe Health Insurance Plan

ProsCons
Everyday wellness is built in with gym access, day 1 mental health counseling, unlimited teleconsultations, and monthly Aura Points, without a separate rider.Value and Rookie allow twin-sharing rooms, others allow single private AC rooms, unless modified by an add-on. Breaching the eligible category can cause proportionate deduction of associated medical expenses.
Flex and GOAT variants build cover faster through Green Flag Bonus, adding 50% of the base SI each year up to 300%. Annual health check-ups and consumables are optional rather than built in, so you need to pay extra for these benefits.
Premiums are competitively priced for younger buyers, particularly across the mid- and higher-tier variants. Aura Point earning stops for the rest of the policy year after a claim, but resumes from the next policy year on continuous renewal.

Regulatory Note

In September 2026, IRDAI fined ICICI Lombard ₹1 crore over lapses in areas like outsourcing, vendor checks, record-keeping, and internal controls. The action came from an inspection conducted in 2019.

This does not mean ICICI Lombard has a problem paying health insurance claims. But it is still a regulatory concern to keep in mind when evaluating the insurer alongside claims experience, complaints, and service quality.

Conclusion

Vibe is clearly designed to catch younger buyers' attention. But once you look past the branding, the core policy itself is fairly conventional. The benefits are not particularly unique, and some important restrictions still remain.Even within ICICI Lombard's own portfolio, Elevate is a more feature-rich hospitalization-focused product, with features such as unlimited reset, longer pre- and post-hospitalisation coverage, and a broader set of optional covers.

And better branding doesn't fix the insurer-level numbers either. ICICI Lombard's three-year average health claim settlement ratio is 86.81%, below our preferred benchmark of 90%.

So our advice is simple. Don't buy Vibe because the benefits have cooler names or because the brochure speaks your language. Compare it with the best health insurance plans in India based on what actually matters when you make a claim: the insurer's track record, room eligibility, waiting periods, restoration, coverage restrictions, and final premium.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ICICI Lombard Vibe health insurance plan worth buying for someone in their 20s?

Among ICICI Lombard Health Insurance plans, Vibe can be a good fit for someone in their 20s who wants hospitalization coverage along with wellness benefits they can use while healthy. It includes gym access, mental health counseling, teleconsultations, and Aura Points on eligible variants. However, room eligibility varies by variant, and some useful benefits such as consumables and annual health check-ups require add-ons.

Can ICICI Lombard Vibe Aura Points be used for dental and vision care, or only for doctor consultations?

Aura Points are not limited to doctor consultations. You can also use them for eligible dental care, vision expenses, diagnostics, pharmacy purchases, OPD consultations, and selected sports-club memberships through the ILTakeCare ecosystem. Redemption is cashless and depends on the insurer’s network. Unused points can carry over to the next policy year on uninterrupted renewal, subject to the 12,000-point accumulation cap.

Does the ICICI Lombard Vibe unlimited sum insured reset apply to a repeat claim for the same illness?

Not in every case. Under the ReVibe benefit, BasicFit, Upgrade, Flex, and GOAT offer unlimited resets when earlier claims leave insufficient cover. However, the reset does not apply to an illness or injury for which a claim has already been paid in that policy year, including related complications, relapses, or readmissions within 15 days. It is also not triggered by the first claim of the year. Value and Rookie provide the reset only once per policy year.

Can someone under 18 use the yearly gym membership benefit in an ICICI Lombard Vibe policy?

No. The GetFit benefit is available only to insured members aged 18 years and above. Eligible members must record 5,000 steps on the ILTakeCare app before accessing gym membership and selected fitness activities. A 30-day waiting period applies to the gym benefit, and actual access depends on the availability of empaneled fitness centers and services in the member’s location.

How is ICICI Lombard Vibe different from ICICI Lombard Elevate health insurance?

Vibe is designed mainly for younger buyers, with an individual entry age cap of 35. It combines hospitalization cover with wellness-focused benefits such as gym access, mental health counseling, teleconsultations, and Aura Points. Elevate, on the other hand, is more customizable, with a maximum entry age of 125 years, sum insured options from ₹5 lakh to unlimited, and a wider range of optional add-ons, including options to reduce pre-existing and specific illness waiting periods. You can read our detailed ICICI Lombard Elevate Health Insurance review for a closer comparison.

What is the Green Flag Bonus in ICICI Lombard Vibe, and how much extra sum insured can I earn each year?

The Green Flag Bonus increases your available sum insured at renewal and doesn't depend on staying claim-free. Value, Rookie, BasicFit, and Upgrade add 20% of the base sum insured each year, up to 100%. Flex and GOAT add 50% each year, up to 300% of the base sum insured, giving these higher variants much faster long-term cover growth.

How does the premium zone work in ICICI Lombard Vibe, and which zone costs less?

Vibe sets your premium based on your city and pincode zone. Zone A covers metros such as Delhi and Mumbai with no discount. Zone B includes Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad, with 10% off the Zone A premium, while Zone C covers the rest of India with 15% off the Zone A premium. Zone D, the rest of NCR, uses a separate -12.5% loading on the Zone A premium. No zone-based co-payment applies. You can check exact rates in the Vibe rate chart.

What discounts are available on the ICICI Lombard Vibe Health Insurance plan?

Tenure discount gives 10% off the second-year premium on a 2-year policy and 15% off the third-, fourth-, or fifth-year premium on longer terms. Referral credit gives both the new customer and the referrer ₹500, with up to 5 referrals per policy year. Zone discount lowers premiums by 10% in Zone B, and 15% in Zone C compared with Zone A. Network Advantage gives 10% off on renewals but adds a 20% co-payment on non-network claims.

How large is the ICICI Lombard Health Insurance hospital list?

The ICICI Lombard Health Insurance hospital list includes 11,000+ network hospitals across India, where eligible policyholders can seek cashless hospitalization subject to authorization and policy terms. However, hospital empanelment can change over time, so check whether your preferred hospitals are currently part of ICICI Lombard’s cashless network before buying the policy.
