Term Insurance offered by Bharti AXA Life Insurance
Flexi Term Pro
Bharti AXA Life Flexi Term Pro is a non-linked, non-participating, individual pure risk premium life insurance plan. The plan offers two broad choices: Without Return of Premium and With Return of Premium. Under the Without Return of Premium option, you can choose either single life cover or joint life cover, where your spouse can also be covered under the same policy.
Benefits Under the Policy
- Death Benefit::
For regular and limited pay options, this is the highest of 11 times the annualized premium, 105% of total premiums paid up to the date of death, or the absolute sum assured chosen under the policy.
- Death Benefit Payout Options::
Lump-sum payout, monthly income for 10 years, or a combination of lump-sum and monthly income.
- Joint Life Cover::
Under the Without Return of Premium variant, the policyholder can choose to cover a spouse under the same policy. If the primary life insured passes away first, the death benefit is paid, future premiums for the surviving secondary life are waived, and the cover for the secondary life continues for the remaining policy term.
- Return of Premium Option::
If the policyholder chooses the With Return of Premium option and survives till maturity, the total premiums paid under the base plan are returned as the maturity benefit, provided all due premiums have been paid.
- Increase Sum Assured Option::
The policyholder can increase the sum assured twice during the policy term without a fresh medical examination. Each increase can be equal to 50% of the original sum assured, with the total increase capped at 100% of the original sum assured.

Bharti AXA Life Suraksha is a non-linked, non-participating, individual pure risk premium/savings life insurance plan. The plan offers two broad options: Without Return of Premium and With Return of Premium. In simple terms, this plan can work either like a regular term plan, where your nominee gets the death benefit if you pass away during the policy term, or like a return-of-premium plan, where you get back the eligible premiums if you survive till maturity.

If the secondary life insured passes away first, the primary life cover continues, but premiums for the primary life still need to be paid.
- Return of Premium Option::
If the policyholder chooses the With Return of Premium option and survives till maturity, the sum assured on maturity is paid, provided all due premiums have been paid. This maturity amount is based on the total premiums payable during the policy term, including modal loadings but excluding extra underwriting premiums, taxes, and rider premiums.
- Increase Sum Assured Option::
The policyholder can increase the sum assured twice during the policy term without a fresh medical examination, subject to conditions. Each increase can be equal to 50% of the original sum assured, and the total increase is capped at 100% of the original sum assured.
- Special Exit Value::
If eligible, the policyholder can exit during the special exit year and receive total premiums paid, excluding applicable taxes and rider premiums. This benefit is not available under the Return of Premium variant, joint life variant, or if the increased sum assured benefit is chosen. The policy term must be at least 40 years.

ULIP Plans
Unit Linked Insurance Plans (ULIPs) are life insurance plans that also let you invest in market-linked funds. A part of your premium goes toward life cover, applicable ULIP charges are deducted, and the remaining amount is invested in funds such as equity, debt, or balanced funds, depending on the plan and the fund options you choose.
Here’s what this means in simple terms: a ULIP combines both insurance and investment. If the policyholder passes away during the policy term, the nominee receives the death benefit in accordance with the policy terms. If the policyholder survives the policy term, they receive the fund value, which depends on how the selected funds perform. There are two types of ULIPs: one where the death benefit is the higher of the sum assured or fund value paid on death, and the other where it is the sum of the fund value and the sum assured.
However, ULIPs come with market risk because your fund value depends on market performance. ULIPs also have a 5-year lock-in period, so they are not ideal if you need short-term liquidity. For most customers, a pure term plan, plus separate investments such as mutual funds, the Public Provident Fund (PPF), and Fixed Deposits (FDs), usually offers more flexibility than a ULIP.
