Pre Hospitalization Expenses

Insurance companies often cover expenses before hospitalization. It's the consultation charges that you have to pay for before the actual treatments.

Pre-hospitalization expenses are the medical expenses of a person before being admitted to a hospital for treatment. These expenses usually include diagnostic tests, medical consultations, and other related expenses.

Pre-hospitalization expenses are covered by health insurance policies, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. The coverage for pre-hospitalization expenses may vary from one insurance policy to another, and it's important to read the policy documents carefully to understand the extent of coverage and any limitations or exclusions.

For example, a health insurance policy may cover pre-hospitalization expenses up to 30 days before hospitalization, subject to a maximum limit of 10% of the sum insured.

In case of a claim, the policyholder needs to provide the relevant bills and receipts for the pre-hospitalization expenses to the insurance company, along with the other required documents. The insurance company will review the claim and reimburse the eligible expenses as per the terms of the policy.
